Because they are not six problems. They are one problem, four times over.
Your soil is compacted. Water sits on the surface instead of draining through it.
So the roots stay shallow. Nothing that lives in airless, waterlogged ground grows deep.
So the grass is weak. Thin, yellow, patchy. It cannot hold its ground.
So moss and weeds move in. They are opportunists. Weak grass is an open door.
And the grubs finish it. Shallow roots are easy eating.
This is why the order of work matters. Open the soil up first. Then feed it. Then the weed and moss control has something worth defending. Do it the other way round and you spend a year feeding a lawn that cannot absorb it.
