What's actually involved
What we do: Powerful blades power-rake the surface, pulling out the dead thatch, moss and old growth that's sitting on top of the soil. We tidy this up ready for the next stage.
Why it matters: Surface thatch and dead grass stops water, air and nutrition reaching the grass roots. Clearing it opens up the surface and gives fresh seed exposed soil for better germination.
What we do: This machine punches holes in the surface and creates cracks deep under the lawn, opening up soil that's been baked hard over the summer.
Why it matters: After a dry summer soil sets hard. Aeration opens it back up so roots can reach deep into the cracks under the surface, water can drain, and new growth has more access to water and nutrition. Aeration also reduces surface waterlogging and associated issues with moss development.
What we do: We spread a compost-based top-dressing across the lawn and work it into the surface. It's packed with beneficial microbes that kick-start soil health and benefit grass plants.
Why it matters: Top-dressing protects developing seed from hungry birds. It holds in moisture and creates an ideal seedbed for new grass plant establishment.
What we do: Our Drench wetting agent, applied over the newly renovated lawn.
Why it matters: After a long drought, soil becomes hydrophobic - it actually repels water. Drench breaks surface tension so water and feed soak in and stay in the root zone where they're needed. This can be the difference between new seed success and seed drying out.
What we do: We select seed that matches the existing lawn and is best suited to the conditions in your garden.
Why it matters: This year we are introducing seed that copes better in high temperature and drought conditions. This is what thickens the lawn back up and fills the bare patches. Autumn is the best germination window of the year - warm soil, natural rainfall, less need to water and all autumn, winter and early spring to establish. We normally charge for the seed; with this offer it's on us!

My lawn had been totally ruined by leatherjackets and needed complete renovation from scratch. I received a couple of proposals from garden care companies which were good but I then opted for Shrekfeet as the advice I received from them was the most thorough.
I met Casey today for the first time. Top bloke, he was very polite, explained what treatments would be done and also how they would help the garden. After meeting him I am now confident my lawn is in good care.
Casey came today for the first visit so I can't review the lawn yet but I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. The treatments are comprehensive and I am optimistic that, with his help, my lawn is going to look great.
We contacted Shrekfeet to look at improving our lawns which had been heavily 'abused' by our dogs. David and Noah have just completed scarification, nutrition, weed control, aeration and now seeding and top dressing. A job well done gents.
Professional from first phone call to final visit. Clear pricing, tidy work, and they came back to check the seed had taken. Rare these days.
Lawn had gone completely brown over the summer. Three months on it is green again and the kids are back out on it. Very happy with the result.
